Lyme disease, what are the symptoms

The Lyme disease is a disease caused by a bacterium, borrelia, which is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick.

It is a multi-system disease, i.e. a disease that can affect different organs or parts of the body and can therefore differ depending on the stage it is in.

When Lyme disease manifests itself, it can do so through three different stages ranging from erythema migrans, to systemic spread and up to serious effects, i.e. when it can generate quite serious complications. (Source: grupposandonato.it)

The first stage of the Lyme disease manifestation.
The first stage of the Lyme disease manifestation is erythema migrans and Borrelia lymphocytoma. Erythema migrans occurs from a minimum of a few days to a maximum of a few weeks after the tick bite. The erythema has a characteristic ring shape with darker, reddened edges and tends to migrate spreading outwards. Borrelia lymphocytoma, on the other hand, is a raised papular-nodular lesion.

What to do in case of a tick bite
If you are bitten by a tick, the main thing to do is to remove it immediately, using tweezers and avoiding breaking the inoculated part. If you are not able to do this on your own, it is necessary to consult a doctor, who will also monitor the next steps, should the need arise.
