Food poisoning is a problem that affects millions of people worldwide every year.

People at risk
As reported by CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), those most at risk are adults over the age of 65, children under the age of 5, and pregnant women. Also at risk are those who use medications to treat liver or kidney disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS or cancer.

Symptoms
Symptoms of food poisoning often include diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, or nausea. Specifically, the first symptom suggested by CDC that may indicate the presence of food poisoning is diarrhea accompanied by fever above 102°F (corresponding to 38.8 degrees celsius).

Even in the absence of fever, if diarrhea lasts for more than three days without improvement it may be a sign of food poisoning.
